Our flooring project was completed on May 3rd! Removing all of the carpet in our home and replacing it with laminate only took five days (but it had taken much longer to find and line up an installer). That same day, we celebrated with our first barbecue of the year. We continued to eat well and enjoy barbecue, including steak on pizza. Liverpool made an entertaining and unlikely comeback versus Barcelona in the Champions League semi-final. In each of the final four fights on the main card of UFC 237, the more recognizable name lost. Even "Thug" Rose was defeated despite drastically outperforming her opponent until being dropped on her head and knocked out. #AndNew The NBA playoffs continue to provide entertainment, but very few surprises, as 3 of the 4 higher seeds once again advanced. The only exception was Portland, who ended the season on a hot streak, so even their playoff success is not shocking. The Raptors won in dramatic fashion, with Kawhi bouncing in a game seven game-winning buzzer beater. I can't see anyone beating the Warriors again this year, as they managed to fend off the Rockets even without Kevin Durant. Curry & Co. then swept the Blazers in the Western Conference Finals. I (painfully) ran; Lisa cycled. We played tennis, and continue to walk. While trying to rehab my torn rotator cuff, I managed to injure the other one! We also made yet another trip up Cobble Hill. Beauty in June's yard. As usual, we came over to the mainland a few days prior to our international flight in order to visit people. We enjoyed a delicious meal at Crystal Mall with Auntie Janet and June. While staying in Burnaby, we still enjoy our walks, including those through Robert Burnaby Park. We visited Langley to see my side of the family. A pre-dinner trip to Fairy Lane was in order, as were post-dinner Charades. It was wonderful to visit in person with each of these lovely ladies this month. Kyumin was in nearby Duncan performing with a choir, so we caught up over coffee, and Karyn has graciously become a welcome part of our Lower Mainland routine, allowing us to drop in whenever we can. This time around, Rick and I met to kick a soccer ball around with "the girls" at the park, and to enjoy some "Dad beers", too. We "only" watched 10 movies in the first 19 days of May, but also enjoyed the final season of "Game of Thrones" & the first 3 seasons of "Mr. D". I kept on reading this month. I spent a considerable amount of time using GoogleMaps and Rome2Rio to plan our routes for exploring Europe over the next three weeks.
