We continue to walk together each day. We spent time at Cees & Miep Hof Memorial Park watching seals, herons, loons, and gulls fish the coastline waters. It's nice to include beaches like Bomford in our walking routine. We made two more trips up Cobble Hill Mountain in October. On October 1st, the first sealion arrived in Cowichan Bay right on schedule. By Thanksgiving there were dozens, and by the end of the month, a few hundred noisy salmon belching visitors. Lisa and I once again spent a quiet Thanksgiving at home. We walked along the Trans-Canada Trail, visited West Shawnigan Lake Park, and returned to the Kinsol Trestle. We appreciated the Autumn colours. The estuary, too, took on a different feel in autumn. Lisa's birthday was recognized without much fanfare, but our crepes came with a view at The Vine as we employed our vaccine passports for the first time. Rob's Lighthouse Eatery always has good fish & chips, too. Her special day was also marked with sunshine, sea lions, and cupcakes. October is definitely pumpkin season! The community continues to enjoy the Halloween spirit(s). Cupcakes... candy... coffee... creepiness... Our favourite trees in our yard were full of colour all month. With a shortage of good new movies to watch, we checked out eighteen stand-up comedy specials! I continue to appreciate and enjoy watching Fall sports. We binge-watched entire new TV series and kept up with the latest episodes of other ongoing programming. I continue to read daily, completing eight more novels.
