Way too much of my day was spent traveling to and from Blaine to open a bank account with the Bank of America. Oh well, the trip preparations continue...
We had one more short visit to say our goodbyes before hitting the road. We made great time on the return trip and spent some time at my parents in Langley. Evening tennis was great.
After a short morning visit with Grandma, we grabbed breakfast and coffee before heading down to the lake. Vecsey got to go swimming in both the creek and the lake and we hung out by the boat launch people-watching. After a mid-day visit at Grandma's, we drove to the Okanagan Lake Provincial Park Campground where we did some reading and Vecsey went for another splash in the lake while we waited for my brother-in-law's family. Peachland was next - we listened to some big band style jazz, walked the lakefront, and visited with my aunt and uncle. Vecsey dipped her toes in the water. We spent the evening chatting with Grandma before retiring to our RV for the night.
After having to replace a completely fried battery, we made a successful drive to West Kelowna in our 'new' RV. We certainly couldn't maintain speed uphill the way we're accustomed to in a car, and the gas tank has already earned the moniquer, "The Bottomless Pit", but she handled well and is very comfortable to sleep in. Vecsey was extremely well behaved during all driving times. When we arrived, we discovered the Rotary Trails, allowing Vecsey easy access to some water. It was nice to see my grandma and to have a visit on Friday evening. I was offered the last of Grandpa's beer in the 'fridge and enjoyed toasting him as we chatted.
Since Lisa is still working until August 8th, weekends still have meaning, and this one is almost here!
Revelation: watching movies, reading books, making phone calls, and e-mailing do not require one to get dressed.
Gave notice to ‘the man’
But who to pass the torch to? Smells like desperation. Every day’s the weekend Chillin' how I do Smells like coffee-time. Sold the city home And moved on to island life Smells like wet dog. Waking up each day Free to spend it with my wife Smells so sweet. Bought an old rv Soon to take it on a whirl Smells like freedom. We may not be the golden age But can spend it with our golden girl Smells like good times. Today was a lazy day when I accomplished very little. After sleeping in this morning, I still napped in the afternoon. I finished one novel and began reading another. I spent time with Vecsey, played a computer game, and watched two movies.
