We tried to take advantage whenever the sun did shine by getting outside, but spent much of the month watching movies and reading books indoors. Still, we did manage to enjoy Gordon Bay Provincial Park, the Skutz / Mile-66 Trestle Trail, Mesachie Mountain, the Honeymoon Bay Ecological Reserve, Woodlands Trails, Bald Mountain, & Marble Bay. |
We did two short hikes on Earth Day despite the drizzle. I have been loving the NHL and NBA playoff action; the Oilers advanced to the second round and the Warriors are rolling. The UFC has provided some more entertaining matchups. We saw several good films this month (as well as some duds); I especially recommend "Hacksaw Ridge", "The Birth of a Nation", and "Hidden Figures". |
Before taking the ferry, we strolled Nanaimo's seawall for the first time.
We made a trip to West Kelowna to attend a memorial service for my grandmother. It turns out many of us have been thinking of her dancing with Grandpa in Heaven. It always strikes me that so many relatives only see each other at weddings and funerals - and we haven't had a wedding in the family for awhile. |
