(We returned for another hike on the 17th.)
I hate that we now have Covid traditions, but finding Easter eggs on Cobble Hill Mountain has become one. (We returned for another hike on the 17th.) We discovered more Easter eggs in Coverdale Watson Park. The girls next door wrote, "Happy Easter Michael and Lisa" and then invited me to join them in beautifying our street. A walk at the estuary is clearly for the birds. We continue to do our best to enjoy life at home alone. On the 9th, I had to make a trip to Honeymoon Bay to dig up access to the septic tank for an inspection and pump out. While there, I spent some time reminiscing at Lily Beach as it happened to be exactly five years since Vecsey's final joyous walk and swim on a sunny afternoon there. This year the mood and weather was very different. A burden was lifted when, after three years, our Honeymoon Bay house... We made some trips to various local beaches. Nicer weather always means more time outside on the deck. We continue to walk everyday, mostly throughout our immediate area. After deciding to make another Costco run, we planned visits to nearby Colwood parks we'd never seen before. We started by hiking two separate loops around lakes in Thetis Lake Regional Park, including taking in the views from the Seymour Hill Summit. Next we headed to the Royal Roads University campus to check out the exterior of Hatley Castle and the surrounding gardens of Hatley Park National Historic Site. Like most great gardens, these would offer different blooms and highlights at different times of the year. We particularly appreciated the Japanese Gardens on this visit. As always, we watched movies. I continue to appreciate the escape and entertainment sports offer. We kept reading. We kept up with some favourite TV shows, found some new ones, and "Shameless" ended after 11 seasons. I binge-watched all things "Last Chance U", became hooked on "Letterkenny", and checked out the ACM awards performances. Glenda McCorkell captured these beautiful early morning bay images.
