As mentioned, the month began while I was at Bonaparte Lake on a fishing trip. June turned out to be hot and dry, breaking records for the area. Instead of the normal 37 mm of precipitation, this June had only 4! By the end of the month the lake and local rivers were already at end-of-August low levels and we were on stage 3 water restrictions. Barbeque season is definitely in full swing and beer is quenching my thirst. Lisa's mom, June, came for another visit and helped to plant many flowers and bushes. I am slowly covering the area around them with rocks transported from the dry creek bed nearby. During her visit, the area celebrated "Lake Days" and June enjoyed the small-town events, including a parade and a pancake breakfast. Shaun and I began construction of a cedar pergola, and Vecsey and I have spent more time in the hammock on the deck. At the end of the month, Lisa's dad, John, and his girlfriend, Inga, came for a visit. We showed them around the area and visited several beaches. To my surprise, Lisa joined them in swimming at Gordon Bay Provincial Park. No one swam more than Vecsey, though! We continue to enjoy dinners and visits with Shaun & Debbie, watching movies, and reading books. Lisa bought two "new" bikes and has enjoyed riding longer distances. We also got hooked on the television show, "Suits", and watched 4 seasons of episodes.
