We congratulated ourselves on completing the drive and the hours of hiking before dark, even as we noticed that the motel looked sketchier than anticipated. When I went to check into our prepaid room, I discovered a locked door marked by a notice that the property was permanently closed as of March 29th! I called the number provided and received terrible customer service from Wyndham, as they explained that each location operates as a privately owned franchise, so no other location would honour our reservation. |
After wasting nearly an hour on the phone with Wyndham, we moved to a nearby Best Western and eventually received excellent customer service from the third-party booking site we'd used, Trip.com.
