We drove the Tioga Road through the park and to Mono Lake. This meant crossing the Tioga Pass at 9945 feet, so the RV had lots of climbing to do today. Mono Lake features calcium carbonate limestone tufas so it's an interesting sight. 393 kilometres of driving (much of them up and down mountainsides) took us to Gardnerville, Nevada. | Today we visited Yosemite National Park. The park's most iconic landmarks are visible from the famous "Tunnel View". We saw El Capitan and Half Dome, but due to California's current drought, Bridal Veil Falls have run dry. This park has many domed mountain peaks and sheer walls, so we saw many advanced mountain climbers doing their thing. |
