We checked out Oklahoma City in the morning. They are doing a great job of revitalizing a portion of the downtown now called Bricktown. It features a nice river walk and several trendy restaurants and bars. After our pleasant stroll we hit the road, hoping to make Little Rock. When we arrived at Little Rock, we could not find an rv park and really needed ac as the heat is oppressive. Along the drive, we were continuously stopping to get Vecsey both cold water and ice for her to lie on as we drove. We pushed on as the sun began to sink from the sky. Eventually we were informed that if we drove 12 more miles we would reach a free rv park. It was not fancy, but the price was right and we were becoming desperate. I have never been so happy to shower in a dark, scary place with no shower-head. 608 hot kilometres covered today! |
